Top 3 Kitesurf Spots in the South Sea Islands!
Share
Here are Møn Surf's recommendations for the best kitesurf spots in the area. Have a good trip, and give us a high five if you pass us on the water!
#1 Kitespot Farø 🏄♀️
This is without a doubt the most popular kitesurfing spot in the South Sea Islands – and for good reason! The water is shallow, there is plenty of space and you can sail in almost any wind direction. We teach 95% of our surf courses here, as it is a safe and easy place for beginners to learn. But that doesn’t mean it’s just for beginners – Farø is a playground for surfers of all levels!
The spot works best in westerly and easterly wind directions.
#2 Klintholm Harbor 🌊
A hidden gem and wave paradise! Klintholm Havn is a fantastic kitesurf spot if you want to be closer to nature, surf waves and have open water to frolic in. We love the feeling of freedom of surfing with an endless horizon and the beautiful beach as a backdrop.
The spot is not as suitable for beginners as Kitespot Farø, as the water quickly becomes deep and there are often waves when it is windy. However, for those who want an extra challenge, it is a great opportunity to learn in more demanding conditions. We recommend anyone who wants to try open and deep water to check out Klintholm Havn. The waves are usually mild and perfect for practicing, and there is plenty of space to launch and land. As this spot is less visited, it is a good idea to write to the local Facebook group (Møn Surfers) if you are planning to go, so you can find a kite buddy!
The spot works best in SW, S and SE wind directions.
3 Albuen 💪
This spot is simply magical – the closest you will get to a lagoon in Brazil here in Denmark! Kilometers after kilometers of shallow water and the opportunity to surf in all wind directions. It is especially good with northerly winds. The spot is shallow and flat, making it ideal for all surfers. NOTE : Be aware of conservation areas, as part of the lagoon is a protected bird sanctuary. If you want to stay overnight nearby, we can recommend @albuenstrandcamping🌴.
