Intro Course

gives you an exciting and educational introduction to kitesurfing. You get a taste of the sport's basic techniques, feel the power of the kite and experience the thrill of being pulled through the water. However, you should not expect to get on the board as it requires approximately 10 hours of instruction for beginners. Intro courses are offered for groups of 4-6 people, so you can bring your friends or meet new people who are also curious about trying kitesurfing. You can register without a partner in this course option.

Private lessons

are ideal if you have already completed a beginner course elsewhere but want a more professional and personal approach. We understand that we all have different learning needs, which is why it is important that your instructor has many years of experience in adapting the teaching to your individual needs. Book a private lesson if you want tailor-made teaching with 100% focus on you and your development.

Buddy course

is perfect for two friends or family members who want to learn kitesurfing together. It is our most popular course and also the most economical choice. It can be extra fun to share this journey with a friend and continue practicing the sport together after the course is over.

NB: You must find a partner for the course yourself.

If you wish to find a partner, we recommend that you book an intro course.

Book a course

Semi-private

Lessons are ideal as a refresher course or for those who have completed a full beginner course and want to progress with skills such as water starts or upwind. You will share the instructor with one other student and each of you will have your own kite. You can sign up without a partner for this course.

NB: Semi-private lessons are only suitable for students who have completed a beginner course and have a good understanding of safety. You must be able to control a kite at 12 o'clock while carrying your board. Semi-private lessons are also perfect for those who just want to rent kitesurfing gear.

FAQ

Can I learn to kitesurf if I've never tried it before?

Everyone can learn to kitesurf!
To participate you must be a confident swimmer. If you are under 16, your parents must be present during the entire course. Kitesurfing is both fun and safe – as long as you take a course with a professional and experienced instructor.

Can I buy my own equipment and try it alone? NO! This is extremely dangerous! We always recommend that you take lessons from a qualified instructor before trying kitesurfing on your own.

How many hours will it take to become a kitesurfer?

On average, students need between 8-15 hours of training with an instructor before they are ready to practice on their own. Kitesurfing can be dangerous if you don't have sufficient knowledge about weather, wind and safety. Therefore, it is important that you get off to a good start so that you can learn the sport in a safe and effective way.

If you want to try kitesurfing before you decide to fully commit, you can start with an intro course. Here you can also meet other students who will continue with a partner course with you.

What should I bring to the course?

  • Swimwear or clothes that can get wet, to wear under the wetsuit.
  • We recommend bringing a hat or sunglasses.
  • Sunscreen!
  • Warm clothes for breaks and lessons on land (We really mean WARM clothes – bring your winter jacket, even in July! It's important to stay warm).
  • Snacks or lunch.
  • Plenty of drinking water.

We'll take care of the rest!

What if the wind is too weak or too strong?

We always choose the right conditions to suit your level, so you have a safe and comfortable experience. But remember, as a kitesurfer it is important to learn to navigate in all types of weather conditions.

If your instructor determines that the weather is not ideal for your session, they will find a new time for you.

You only pay for the lesson once it has been completed. If we have to rebook and cannot find an alternative time, you will be refunded for your session.

Your safety and the quality of your session are always our top priority!

Will I receive a diploma after my course?

Yes!

We are a certified kitesurf school by the Danish Sailing Union.

When booking 10 hours of instruction or more, the diploma is included in the price.

Do you teach children?

Yes, we teach children! What a great gift to start kitesurfing at a young age. We love teaching children and they often have great success and a faster learning curve than adults. We have no minimum age limit, but all participants must be able to swim. We also recommend that the child weighs at least 50 kg. With us, safety is always our first priority.

Where can I buy gear after my course?

Ask your instructor for recommendations for equipment.

There can be advantages to buying used equipment, but it can also be a risky and expensive experience.

Møn Surf offers tailor-made equipment packages that suit your needs – and as a student at Møn Surf you always get a good deal. We offer a minimum 15% discount on a complete equipment package.

We take your future on the water seriously, regardless of your budget. Ask your instructor for good advice, both with regard to your needs and your budget.

Where do we teach?

We teach 75% of the lessons at Kitespot Farø, which is located right by the motorway exit to Bogø and Møn.

When learning to kitesurf, you need three things:

WIND

LOTS OF SPACE

SHALLOW WATER

Kitespot Farø is one of Denmark's best spots for beginners. We can surf in most wind directions. In the summer it is often windier on Farø than on other spots on Zealand, thanks to a Venturi effect from the landscape.

NB. Kitesurf Intro course is held at our surf café in Klintholm Havn.
